VICTORY CONDITIONS

The War will run from the beginning of 2273 to the end of 2283. This game time will equate to 14 days of real time, barring extension via server outages etc. This is not an entire war. Instead, it is one short phase of a very long war. The object is not to erase the enemy, but to put your empire into a better position from which to fight the next phase.

Each faction has a different goal, and thus (technically) each is capable of joint victory or joint defeat. The Romulans are seeking to pressure the Federation into sueing for peace and pulling out of the western war (a theater not shown in this game). The Gorn want to help their ally and avoid a dominant Romulan Empire in the East. The Federation are striving to both break the Romulan threat and protect their economy (so that they can keep the western war running)

At the conclusion of the game, each faction will total their points and and compare them to the table below. Moral victory can be achieved by scoring higher than an opponent, even if you score a "loss". In a campaign where everyone "loses", the "winner" is the side in best shape to face the next stage of the war.

** Two consecutive enemy held hexes along a high econ "spine" is a broken trade route. No hex can be counted towards more than one break. Spine hexes usually have an econ rating of 14. Round fractions down. (Three continuous hexes are one break, four are two breaks.)

High econ hexes that contain a planet or an original base do not count towards a break. Two hexes that straddle a planet or base do not count as a break. (Unless they also touch each other, and are thus continuous.) Tholian hexes cannot be counted for Federation or Gorn victory, but such hexes taken by the Feds or Gorn will deny Romulans the chance to count them towards victory.

Your defenses are failing. You will need a major turnaround tos save your empire.

Decisive Defeat

Call the head of state. It's time to start surrender negotiations
