Scream and Leap
Mirak are large (over 6.5 feet tall, and more than 330 lbs) felines. They are carnivorous, and stories of Miraki eating their captives are most often true. Miraki society is strictly patriarchal. Thousands of years of male dominace has bred their females into virtual non-sentience.
I Am the State
The Miraki government is a monarchy and the ruling hereditory sovereign is known as the Patriarch. There are four principle divisions of Miraki territory, each ruled by a hereditary noble. These are known as the Duke (Klingon Border), the Marquis (Federtaion Border), the Count (Lyran Border), and the Baron (who controls a region of newly explored territory with no hostile borders). These nobles and the Crown Prince form a council known as the Patriarchy, which advises the Patriarch.
The Magic Bullet
Their fleet is highly professional, but the Miraki are aggressive to a fault. Much of the fleet's time has been spent in various civil wars over succession to the throne. Their most notable civil war (40 years ago) forced the loser to flee and form a new government within the WYN cluster. For years the Miraki preoccupation with fighting amongst themselves kept the focus of their arms development limited and led to an extrememe specialization in missiles. Closing with a Mirak ship can be a frightening experience.
